Flying to Portugal
Here's what we would recommend
Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport
Porto, Portugal
The airport we'd recommend everyone to fly into is Porto, Portugal.
This is the closest airport to Amares, the surrounding city where our wedding will be held, with a 45 minute drive time from the airport.
The airport has car hires on site (links below) and has good access to Uber, Bolt and local taxi's.
Where to stay...
Our wedding venue is within the city of Amares, so the surrounding areas for accommodation would be recommended. The closest town we would recommend for your stay is Braga.
Below are a handful of options close to our wedding venue, however there is a lot more via Expedia, Booking.com or Air BnB
Hotel Meliá Braga - Wedding Party Recommendation
This is the main hotel we would recommend our guests to book.
Hotel Meliá is located in the centre of Braga and offers modern luxury with a spa, pools, and spacious rooms. It’s a 20-minute drive to our venue, with easy access via Uber or Bolt.

If you are planning on staying at this hotel, we recommend you book as soon as possible in order to guarantee availability, Please note the hotel has said that payment will only be requested by the hotel directly 42 days prior to check-in.

Vila Galé Collection Braga is in the city centre of braga and located 25 -minutes from the wedding venue. With Uber and Bolt available around the clock, transportation is easy and hassle-free.

The Inside Hotel in Braga, known for its rich history, is another good option for your stay. Located just 22 minutes from the venue, it offers convenient access with Uber and Bolt.

Car Hire
If you want to avoid taxi's, we'd recommend to book a car hire straight from Porto Airport. There is a shuttle for the provider you book with just outside the arrivals, which will take you to the car hire offices, just a short drive away.

If you don't fancy driving in Portugal, we would recommend to download the Uber or Bolt app to conveniently book taxi's on the go.
